LAWN CARE
Here at Premier League Lawn Scapes, we have a pragmatic approach to Lawn Care, guided by our experience, knowledge base and industry best practice in deciding the ideal way to improve our clients’ lawns, culturally and chemically, whether that be organically, inorganically or a combination of the two.
Our passion in what we do is the main driver. However, we are influenced by the realities of what lies beneath, the nutrient and moisture draining hierarchy or trees and established plants, climatic conditions, location, and other factors which may impact lawn performance and health.
A Perfect Lawn is a term freely used by many Lawn Care Professionals who have, like us, worked for many years at Premier Sporting Venues. We all strive for perfection, but it is our view and realisation to accept in most cases, every situation can be different.
The soil substructure, water management, drainage capability, plus the forementioned influencing factors help to steer us away from managing the perfect set-up but more towards managing and significantly improving what we have in front of us, or should we say – below us!
Adding a little science and proven cultural practices is key to improving the soil health which in turn creates a happier environment for existing grasses and newly sown desirable grass species to flourish.
We are also very aware of individual expectations and garden maintenance budgets, so tailoring our Treatment Programs to improve client’s lawns and achieve their perfect is of utmost importance to us.
Lawn Treatment Packages & Cultural Practices
We are very confident in the packages we offer, knowing every seasonally scheduled treatment offers a purpose and is beneficial to lawns and turf surfaces. However, we do not expect our clients to be tied to an annual contract or payment plan. We understand circumstances can change and budgets need to be changed or prioritised, so keeping payment options simple and flexible is how we like to operate.
Individual Treatments
We are confident in our proven Treatment Programs and Practices and their ability to significantly improve lawns and grass surfaces. We are also very aware of clients’ individual requirements and budgets.
Some people just seek a weed free lawn, some prefer to keep the flowering weeds for pollinating insects but like the surrounding grass to be green, and some desire their lawns to shine for special garden parties or when hosting a home wedding. All of these options are catered for with our very flexible and customer focused approach.
Premier 4 Seasons (4 visits)
Keeping your lawn green and pristine
Professional and proven granular fertiliser application in Spring, Summer & Autumn, plus a Winter Iron spray application. Granular treatments incorporate vital trace elements, bio stimulants and wetting agents.
Premier Weed-Free (5 visits)
Keeping the weeds away with more grass for play
As above, with the inclusion of a selective weed kill spray treatment, tank-mixed with liquid fertiliser and amino acids.
Premier Organic (4-5 visits)
Keeping it pure with nature
Although selective weed control for lawns is somewhat limited to well calibrated and safe chemical treatments, managing weed invasion culturally and combining this to a well-managed program, in-turn promoting grass growth, allows us to offer an Organic-based Treatment Program.
Soil Analysis
Being sure of the core
This beneficial service is available with any new Treatment Package, which effectively provides a soil health-check. Analysing soil texture, thatch content, pH level, organic matter content and 3 major plant nutrient levels – potassium, phosphorus and magnesium.
We will arrange a visit to remove multiple soil cores from different areas of your lawn, box-up, label and then send off for testing by a Specialist Laboratory called NRM. A report will then be issued for our guidance and your reference.
A trained eye can assess a lawns requirement relatively well but learning these key facts will enable us to specifically tailor our programs exactly to your individual lawn needs. Visually, core samples will also help us to ascertain the levels of thatch (decaying fibrous layer of organic matter between leaf and roots), compaction, oxygen presence and any potentially locked nutrients.
Understanding what is going on underneath the lawn is key to its future development and sustainability.

Premier Renovation
Restore the floor to make room for more
This is offered in combination with the above packages or can be a standalone service.
Lawn scarification in several directions – The number of passes is dependent on thatch or fibrous growth content. Removal of decaying matter and growing fibrous roots opens the soil surface which aids air flow, surface water penetration and enables new seed pockets for the newly sown desirable grasses.
Premi-Air Renovation
Soften the core to allow in m02re
Like the Premier Renovation practice, it is offered in combination with the above packages or can be a standalone service. Solid tine or micro-core tines penetrate several inches into the soil to aid surface drainage, reduce compaction, reduce thatch, increase oxygen levels, and improve microbial activity and root depth.
A procedure which is often carried out simultaneously with Premier Renovation works, for lawns which are suffering from severe compaction. Creating thousands of holes, filled with oxygen, can also be a perfect seed bed for the germination of newly applied seed.
It can also be carried out during most seasonal periods when soil moisture is available or excessive rainfall causes surface water retention. Keeping the soil surface open and free from compaction helps water and air flow levels, thus creating a good growing environment!

Top-dressing & Re-levelling
Adding a very friable sand soil mix dressing is a service we often carry out when renovating lawns with poor topsoil, filling in patchy areas or for gaining better and truer levels. Lawn scarification and aeration alone, normally provide a very good sowing area, but the inclusion of this media in certain cases can help protect newly sown seed from moisture loss and feathered scavengers.
Other Specialist Treatments
- Fungicides: In the event of turf disease invasion
- Pesticides: Controlling unwanted soil habituating organisms and grub infestation
So please do not be put off, just get in touch and we will be happy to visit and discuss.
Note: ALL treatments are carried out when conditions are suitable and safe to apply. For Spray Treatments: Calibrating safe and regulated chemicals we are certified to use, whilst wearing the correct PPE when applying, are steps we and all other operators should adhere to. This helps to avoid any impact to the health of the lawn, surrounding plants and the immediate environment. Depending on the location or the size of area to be treated, we will either mark out or include a temporary and water-soluble dye to the solution, to maximise coverage and minimise any overspray or drift from the nozzle-jets. We use a combination of professional equipment types including, single and/or triple nozzle Knapsack sprayers and/or multiple-nozzled wheeled pedestrian sprayers.
